Want Your Teen to Drive Safely? There's an App for That | Transportation

A new mobile app is hoping to keep teens safe on the roads.

DriveScribe, developed by University of Minnesota researchers, encourages safe driving habits and coaches young drivers.

The app gives real-time feedback to the driver; blocks calls, emails, and text messages while the car is in motion; gives parents notifications when traffic violations happen; and creates a log of driving activity that can be viewed later.
